Definition

At FAI we believe that sustainable investing is how we can secure the environment for future generations. Lets get some nomenclature clear. Investment world refers to sustainable investing in multiple different formats such as impact investing, socially responsible investing, green investing, and responsible investing.

Why is this important?

Sustainable investing is driven by personal values and goals, institutional mission, and the demands of clients on the firms. Sustainable investors aim for strong financial performance, but also believe that these investments should be used to contribute to advancements in social, environmental and governance (ESG) practices. According to a 2022 report by Sustainable Investment Forum, there are a total of $8.4 trillion USD assets under management that identify themselves as sustainable investments.

What do you need to learn?

As there is a lot of information on this topic, it is very important to understand the basics of Sustainability concepts, what constitues as a sustainable investment, how to idenfity and verify the eligibility of such investments. There is lot of research being done on this investment category both by science community as well as financial community.
